    Elmer is a special elephant, he isn´t grey, he is blue, red, yellow, white and many other colors: the Patchwork Elephant. While playing with his cousin Wilibur he notices, that there are no birds singing in the trees. He finds out that they are frightened by a big bully, nasty bird. But Elmer helps them to get a normal life again – he has a wonderful plan how they all together can frighten the big, nasty bird. And it works.
  • Review:
    I really love all books of Elmer, because of the beautiful pictures an the funny stories. Her it is a wonderfulls story about how strong we can be if we work together and that nothing must be frightened  if you have friends like Elmer and a good idea. I think children and adults will love this story!

    Elmer is a special elephant, he isn´t grey, he is blue, red, yellow, white and many other colors: the Patchwork Elephant. One day he and his cousin Wilbur are told to come to their grandpa. He tells them about Rose, a little pink elephant, who has gotten lost. Elmer an Wilbur help her to find back to her herd and find out that normal is only the way you think of it.
  • Review:
    I love all books of this wonderful elephant, but this one I think is the one I like best, because of Rose and the special way her story is told. In my opinion it is a good book to teach children what being different means and that it is only in the way we think. The pictures of the book are as  beautiful as in all the other books on Elmer and make you like it even more (if that is possible). I can recommend it to all people, not only the little ones.

  • Inhalt:
    Elmar und seinVetter Willi werden von einem Vogel gerufen, der ihnen ausrichtet, dass sie sofort zu ihrem Opa kommen soll. Dort begegnet den beiden eine kleiner rosaroter Elefant mit Namen Rosa. Sie helfen ihr zurück zu ihrer Herde zu finden und sind völlig überrascht, als sie feststellen, dass Rosas Herde nur aus rosaroten Elefanten besteht.
  • Rezension:
    Ich finde dieses Elmar Buch wie alle Bücher übder den karierten Elefanten einfach total schön. Es ist genial wie in diesem Buch mit dem Thema „Anderssein“ umgegangen wird. Außerdem bin ich immer wieder von den wunderschönen und farbenfrohen Bilder beeindruckt. Dieses Buch hat noch ein weiteres Highlight – eine Herde voller pinkfarbener Elefanten und natürlich Rosa selbst. Ich habe mich in sofort in sie verliebt, weil sie mir so ähnlich ist und auch ständig rot wird, was bei einem rosaroten Elefanten natürlich nicht ganz so schlimm ist. Ich kann das Buch wirklich weiterempfehlen. Leider ist das Buch auf deutsch derzeit vergriffen. In englischer Sprache ist es aber noch erhältlich und die Bilder sind ja identisch :-).

    Elmar ist ein ganz besonderer Elefant, denn er ist nicht grau wie seine Artgenossen, sondern bunt wie eine Patchworkdecke. Mit Elmar wird es nie langweilig und auch die anderen Elefanten lernen, dass es nicht schlimm ist, anders zu sein. 
  • Rezension:
    Ich liebe die Geschichte von Elmar. Allein schon das Aussehen von Elmar macht ihn besonders und liebenswert, aber ach sein Wesen ist einfach total toll. Seine Geschichte ist ein wunderschönes Beispiel dafür wie schön es sein kann anders zu sein und das jeder etwas besonderes ist.  Kinder und Erwachsene lieben Elmar gleichermaßen und ich kann jedem, der ihn noch nicht kennt nur empfehlen ihn kennen zu lernen.
